Malorie LemanMeet Malorie Leman

Malorie is a native Texan who grew up in Beaumont, Texas. Having been raised by a father who was a judge and a mother who was a nurse, from a young age she developed a keen interest in both healthcare and the law. While in high school and in college she worked in and around hospitals and nursing homes. She volunteered for children with developmental disabilities and was a Guardian Advocate for Family Eldercare in Austin, Texas. Malorie was also selected to participate in The Michael E. DeBakey Summer Surgery Program and was paired up with a surgeon at Baylor College of Medicine to shadow in the operating room, clinics and conferences for the duration of the program.

After graduating with her degree in Psychology with honors, she turned her path to public health and pursued classes at the University of Texas School of Public Health while attending the University of Houston Law Center with a focus on health law. It was at that time her legal career began to blossom. Between 1999 and 2002, she interned for the Associate General Counsel at Baylor College of Medicine with a focus on compliance issues, and was also a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Texas School of Public Health in various areas including healthcare utilization trends, comparative health policy, health system reform, and comparison of the performance of for-profit and non-profit healthcare entities.

Malorie graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in 2002. Prior to joining Walston Bowlin in 2016, she enjoyed a diverse career representing individuals, families and companies both in Texas and across the country. She has extensive experience litigating a wide variety of cases, including personal and occupational injuries, product liability, pharmaceutical and medical devices, claims arising under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act and first-party insurance claims in both state and federal court.

Malorie appreciates personal interactions with her clients and remains committed to obtaining the best and most effective resolutions in every case. She lives in Houston with her husband and three little girls.
